A tendon laceration or a tendon injury require surgery within a period of up to 3 weeks. A tendon incision can be caused by a knife, glass, saw or any sharp object penetrating the skin. It is useful to perform a tendon incision repair in any case where the tendon injury has a functional significance. Repair of the tendon can be done using the famous stitch invented by Professor Isidor Kessler, a famous hand surgeon from Israel, who served as director of the hand surgery department at Kaplan Hospital. The suture that Professor Kessler invented is a unique stitch that slides and locks the tendon ends in one action. This stitch has led to a revolution in the approach to tendon suturing in the world and is one of the most widely used in the world and in Israel today.
